per a few requests, i give you a tour of sorts of the mostly complete nursery... please note that the furry child thinks that this is his domain and i fear is going to be in for a rude awakening in the coming days. andy says thomas has requested bunk beds for him and the baby. and of course, thomas already has dibs on the top bunk.
the bedding that set the entire nurser in motion. love it. haven't found anything that i've liked better. the colors, the mod pattern, everything. mobile was a recommendation from baby enabler susan and a gift from my sweet scrapbook friend, julie. hanging above the crib is one of the prints i had found on etsy and had framed. perfect sentiment, perfect colors. and then of course, the lime green rug that i finally found at ikea. just what the room needed.
my favorite spot in the nursery. thomas' as well as he loves to sleep in the chair or ottoman. the pendant lamp doesn't have a switch but i solved that problem by finding an extension cord that operates with a tap of my foot. problem solved. the perfect amount of light for over the chair. this is the view from the doorway. love that you're greeted by the owl when you're standing in the hall.
to the right of the chair - the wall of thomas. even if andy does think it could scare the child, i love that i could incorporate thomas in an artsy sort of way. an inexpensive art solution that isn't nursery cutesy.
my changing table solution with my ikea dresser. another print that i framed and by the same artist as the art above the crib. the blank spot by the closet door will soon be filled. i scored some block shelves in the same wood finish as the crib that will be the perch for a couple of handmade owls that i received from my artsy friend alais. who knew that the vinyl owl would inspire so much?
and that's the grand tour. my favorite room in the house by far. one that has be inspired to finish up other projects in the house. a good thing i like it so much as i'm sure i'll be spending a fair amount of time in that orange chair in the near future.

VERY near future! :)
Such a fun room, Mel. I love it and bet that baby will too.
Enjoy your short wait... it's almost time! YEAH!

So very cute, Mel! Both Cole & Harper had older versions of that mobile! They loved it, and after they'd outgrown the mobile itself we still played the music to help them go to sleep.

So, once you finally "spit that baby out" (my kids' phrase - not my own ;) You'll still have plenty of time to come to Michigan and take care of my nursery. Right? It looks *incredible* Any kid would be lucky to have that room!
