run a 5k? check! even better? my goal of running a 5k without walking? also met.
not the best of days for a morning run. grey and chilly and then add in some rain. in fact, before we were set to begin we were told that volunteers wouldn't be out on the course. um, kind of necessary to know where to run, right? but in the end, they were there and andy and i both ran. he of course left me in the dust, but the best part of that was that my sweet guy thought enough to get out his phone and snap a photo of me right before crossing the finishing line.
i won't like. i still don't enjoy running. but i love the high of completing a run afterwards. and i love checking something off of my "want to do someday" list. according to my ipod, i averaged a 10:34 mile. not overly fabulous but i finished in less than 34 minutes so i'm calling it good for my first attempt.
and now we're talking about running another on thanksgiving morning. because that would mean i could have an extra slice of pie, right?

Way to go Melanie! And yes, running on Thanksgiving Day definitely means you can indulge in an extra slice of pie!

Way to go my friend! :) Proud of you and CHECK that off of the list. A Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving DEF means another slice of pie...except aren't you usually the one doing all of the cooking that day? Maybe a run is an exemption from all of the cooking!!

Awesome!! I hope you do continue to run. I'm planning to do a 5k in April (although I'll probably be walking most of it, pushing baby in stroller). Gotta start somewhere, and to have run ALL of your first 5k, in less than 35 min - SpecFabulous!
