today i'm sharing week 18 of my project life album over on the BasicGrey blog for a new series we've started and we've named "what a week."

meant to get this up last tuesday but other things got in the way. i was doing so well with being almost current and then my printer ran out of ink so i'm now a couple of weeks behind again. hoping to be closer to current at the end of the week unless this baby decides to arrive earlier than my master plan.
[left page] the first round of baby laundry. two quotes from C [probably my favorite part of this whole project is the random things that she says.]. a 36 week belly photo. the girls playing with daddy. another photo of L at the ob's office as we wait for an appointment.

still continuing to love this project. event with how chaotic this year will be, it actually means that our life is getting documented more as opposed to the occasional layout. our 2012 will likely be documented via project life and baby #3's baby book. and i'm okay with that.

[week 13 - with inserts] can i first say i'm beyond excited that i completed three weeks for my project life album last week? week 12 which i shared last week and weeks 13 and 14 which i'm sharing today. it's my goal to complete weeks 15 + 16 this week. here's to lofty goals!
this was the last of birthday weeks - thank goodness! you can tell that my album is getting a bit lop-sided due to inserts. this week i included an insert with andy's birthday cards and another insert documenting his actual birthday.
[week 13 - without inserts] i didn't notice until now that the lower right hand photo of the spread slipped out of the protector a bit when photographing. oops!
[week 13 - left side] the girls playing outside. a piece of mail addressed to the girls from nana. L catching an episode of pbs at one of my ob appointments. (there are MANY of these shots in this year's album.) a grocery receipt. a photo of the caller id of our landline from andy calling to say he was on his way home. bath time. going through the car wash with the girls - apparently it's very entertaining.
[week 13 - right page] the infamous bagel tomb preschool craft. a playdate. a trip to target. the girls working on their computers. C in the palm sunday service at church.
[week 13 - andy's birthday insert] photos from his day + a bit of journaling.
[week 14 - without insert] a full week of a road trip, an easter egg hunt and easter.

[with insert] i have grand plans for project life this week. week 12 is now finished and in the album. i also have photos printed for weeks 13 + 14. hoping to be close to current by the end of this week!
[without insert] this is the first week that i didn't feel like i had enough 4x6 photos to complete my spread. instead of photos, i opted to include our menu for the week, a drawing from C and a larger journaling card.
[left page] our dinner menu for the week. new artwork from C that documents her current phase of drawing rainbows each and everytime and also her new "style" of people. the girls' yearly check-ups.
[favorite] my favorite part from this week's spread was this health check journaling card. the base is an OLD card that i had in my stash that i believe is from my mind's eye. add some alphabet stickers and another smaller journaling card and it was perfect. on either side, i had taken photos of the girls' height and weight with my phone from the sheets we brought home from the doctor.

[with inserts] apparently week 11 was even busier than i thought. lots and lots of photos included. more than i've ever included for a single week. plus three inserts. THREE. one to hold photos of the birthday we celebrated. one to hold swimming lesson progress reports. and one to hold cards for the birthday girl.
[without inserts] only two journaling cards used in the middle row. definitely a first. also a first to include two belly shots.
[left page] the girls inspecting bugs. the baby bedding arrived. week 31 belly shot. a tweet about andy joining our local alumni group for an 8K run (which i found incredibly hysterical). our new napping arrangement. the girls sporting their tiger shirts for the first round of march madness. (and no, i didn't include a single word about our loss.)
[right page] stopping by the hospital to tell andy hello when we were in the neighborhood and he didn't happen to be operating. the girls watching an episode of "word world" at an ob appointment. a pretty straight forward week. and no inserts. so really this shouldn't have taken me two weeks to finish. but life gets in the way sometimes. still happy to have another week completed. and trying desperately to get another week completed this week!
[left page] all phone photos. a photo text we sent andy. L watching a PBS show on the ipod as we waited for an ob appointment. an ash cross on C's hand from preschool. selecting donuts with daddy on saturday morning. the second crib going back up.
[left page - favorite] documenting that at some point in my life, my daughter thought i was a genius. even if it was just for putting her leg through the hole in her leotard before dance class.
[right page] my love of chai is back. a snow day + dry erase crayons. a new spring bag. a belly shot. our first uw basketball game.
[right page - favorite] love that this project helps me find a home for little pieces of memorabilia like ticket stubs. i adhered them to a project life card and they aren't going anywhere.

[with insert] finished this one last week and still playing a bit of catch up. but that's how it goes. too many things going on as of late. and did i mention i found out i have bronchitis today? and that likely everyone in our house does? good times.
[without insert] loving looking through this album and seeing all that we've done this year already. totally and completely in love with this concept.

[favorite : left side] so glad for this project as it allows me to house little tidbits the girls come up with like this conversation before we left for school one day. i have no clue where C got the word "spanish" or if she really knows what it is but i about died laughing at this exchange.
[right side] a peek into C's classroom during snacktime. the girls enjoying a tray lunch. two adventures to the dmv on one day - such fun! a block structure from C. swimming lessons.
[favorite : left side] part of a bag from one of the girls' meals at chipotle. love that with a little trim, it was the perfect memento from a lunch out.
[insert - front] watching the mu/ku game at an alumni watch party. included a postcard that we had received in the mail. loved personalizing the elle's studio tag with a bit of sticker.
[insert - back] dad's day at preschool. the middle is the invitation that C made for andy - a few weeks ago her a's had crazy tails for some reason.

first, can i just say how nice it is to have a project life buddy? now that andy's sister is in town, we met twice this week to scrapbook. and it took me that long to get this week put together. i'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with the extra chit chat, or the oscars or anything like that though.
this week is very pink. appropriate as it was valentine's week. and it's yet another week with an insert. technically it will have two inserts as i still need to put in a page or pocket with our valentine's as well. trying to decide on whether to do a regular page protector or a big envelope page. with as much as the girls flip through this album, i'm thinking maybe the latter.
[left page] C finishing her valentines. the tulips andy brought home late on valentine's night as he was on call and didn't get home until late (yet still stopped by whole foods for my favorite tulips). valentine post-its from andy to the girls and to me. a parking pass for a study L participated in on campus. the new dining room rug.

i've had this week done except for the insert which i didn't get done until friday. glad to have another layout in what has become our coffee table book as are the girls who have become the biggest fan of this project. love having a specific place to tuck in the little bits and pieces of our everyday.
the spread for week six without the insert. i've said it before, but i'm in love with these american craft page protectors to hold extra photos + pieces from our week.

another week documented and into the album. thinking i've finally figured out how i like to put things together. limited supplies, handwriting only. i have a small three drawer container that holds all of the supplies i like to use and simply shuffle through everything to find things that coordinate with the photos and stories i'm telling.
this week's two page spread minus the extra insert. really liking the american crafts page protector for my extra insert. perfect for adding a few more photos + lots of journaling.

a better look at two of my favorite journaling cards from this week. a mizzou victory against the chickenhawks and a conversation between C and her daddy during the superbowl. she's very into the concept of heaven as of late.
