weekly scrapbook layout : 2.9.12.

 

i ususally do my weekly scrapbook layout over the weekend but this weekend i was more focused on getting another week completed in my project life album.  i didn't think i'd get a layout finished this week but decided to tackle it last night, basing it loosly on this week's sketch on the basicgrey blog.

photos from almost a year ago when C moved into a toddler bed.  ironically, i just bought sheets for the twin bed she'll be moving into on her birthday this year.  must be nice to get a new bed each year!

i can't believe these photos were nearly a year ago...  another layout based on the weekly sketch over on the BasicGrey blog using our newly released kissing booth collection.  perfect for valentine's day related photos!  C and i were making marshmallow pops for her friends at sunday school.  i'm thinking this just might have to be her treat for her preschool friends this year as well as an "extra" to go with her valentine's.  need to clear that first as they have a "healthy snack" rule but i'm guessing if the kids can take it home with them isntead of eating it in class it'll be okay.

weekly scrapbook layout : 1.24.12.

if you ever would've told me i would die-cut a chicken for a project, i would've laughed at you.  and then this weekend i found myself creating my very own plaid chicken.  a perfect embellishment for this layout about the hat i made for C last year.  although technically it's L's hat now.

love taking part in the weekly sketches over on the BasicGrey blog.  always pushing me to try something new and playing with things to make it work.  case in point : the chicken.  i also used my cameo to create a chicken wire background behind my photo.

another week, another layout.  so happy to add this to our albums.

weekly scrapbook layout : 1.17.12.

another week, another layout.  this one has a lot more "stuff" than i usually add, but i had a great time playing.  it's based on this week's sketch on the BasicGrey blog.  the original sketch was for a card, but as i haven't created a card in quite some time, i translated it to a layout instead.

lots of fun with my silhouette cameo this week.  i cut my title and a shadow behind it so that it wouldn't get lost in the rest of the "blueness" of my layout.  i also cut the fish scale pattern as well.  love the effect it gave it but wasn't so keen on scraping all the leftover bits off of my cutting mat afterwards.

all in all, simply happy to have another layout created for our family albums.

weekly scrapbook layout : 1.10.11.

this year, i'm going to attempt to create a typical scrapbook layout each week as well as keep up with project life.  yes, i am a glutton for punishment.  but man, what a hi when i actually get something created and can add it to the stack of layouts that need to be put away in an album!

this week, i created a layout based on the this week's sketch on the basicgrey blog.  i changed a few things up but loved being able to get something created somewhat quickly.  the photos are from C's first day of preschool in september.  totally a mama moment when i pulled them out as she looks so much younger in them!

after not scrapbooking in about three months - hello pregnancy! - it was so nice to get back to some paper last night. 

ever since i posted this layout by keisha campbell on the BasicGrey blog a few weeks ago, i've been wanting to create something similar.  i also fell in love with that hello circle that jen jockisch has used previously.  a combination of the two and i was done in no time.

now baby #3 has the first page for his/her baby book.   and i have to admit that i need to get L's book started and finished asap.

three layouts from the past two weeks.  and just realizing all are about miss C.  might need to make an L themed layout this week!  i'm finally getting closer to being caught up on editing photos - can't believe i got so far behind!  all three layouts are with 2011 photos.

C and i took a parent/child art class together at the beginning of the year.  what seemed like a good idea was negated when we met the teacher who had us call her "dr." because she has a doctorate in something or other.  and basically the parent was just there to make sure the child didn't injure them self somehow.  we were NOT allowed to actually do any of the art project.  but i digress...

andy took a week off around the girls' birthdays and he did all kinds of fun things with them.  one was building this ginormous snowman with C one morning while L was napping.  she loves getting dressed in her snow pants and boots and heading outside.

as a side note, friday was my last day as blog contributor + design team coordinator with elle's studio.  i absolutely adore elle and her products as well as the design team she put together - she is one of the most kind women i've worked with in this industry.

i am thrilled to announce that i've accepted a new position with basic grey as their social media coordinator.  an exciting and challenging adventure for sure and one that i'm already enjoying.

meant to get this up yesterday, but it just didn't happen.  decorating pumpkins for halloween last year.  the girls both look so little!  and L was having none of sitting with C for a posed photo.  now that L is equally obsessed with sesame street, i'm sure we'll be doing this type of pumpkin decorating again this year.  C has been asking to go to the pumpkin patch for months now!

love that i've kept up with my goal for creating at least one layout a week this year.  now i'm needing to purchase a few albums to get my stacks of layouts protected from the little hands that love to flip through them.  because listening to them screach and squeal over photos of themselves and their family makes it all worthwhile.

L's first pair of jeans.  roughly about the same time last year.  such a big girl even then.  love that she was wearing the same onesie that C wore with her first pair of jeans.  and yes, i remember such odd things as that.

C and the little boy who lives next door.  they're three years apart in age, but they adore one another.  we had to laugh last week when he brought out a blanket and put it on the grass and offered her crackers.  an impromptu picnic of sorts.  this was last year during his pirate phase.
